Plus, Yukon NDP Leader Kate (the Great) White rocks the studio to talk about a possible election, Katie Johnson of the Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association showcases Yukon Arts just in time for the holidays, and Jocelyn Joe-Strack and Dakota Norris are powering up the Yukon First Nations Climate Action Fellowship, a huge opportunity for youth to join the fight of a lifetime.

Dr. Hanley shares his honest answers, and offers further insight into an extremely challenging and rapidly-changing public health emergency unfolding across the North.

Part III: YFN Climate Fellowship: A Time For Action

Grand Chief Peter Johnston welcomes Jocelyn Joe-Strack and Dakota Norris to learn more about the Yukon First Nation Climate Action Fellowship, a new initiative that will engage and empower youth to play a leading role in developing a climate vision and action plan. Up to 12 interested youth will have the opportunity to take part in this 20-month fellowship, building on the Youth Climate Declaration, and advancing the vision and principles created during the Yukon First Nations Climate Action Gathering in February, 2020.

Part IV: Holiday Solutions: Yukon Artists Now Online

Grand Chief Peter Johnston connects with Katie Johnson, Director of Arts for Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association to talk about the challenges facing Yukon artists and art retailers during the COVID crisis. With a new branding initiative, online shopping solutions, a suite of workshops and the Yúk'e Arts Market around the corner (December 5-20 in Whitehorse), the team at YFNCT has been working overtime to keep the creative spirit front and centre this holiday season.

Part V: Reggie McGinty: The Power of Discipline

Grand Chief Peter Johnston is joined by Yukoner Reggie McGinty to talk about his journey from Mayo to becoming a Brazilian jiu jitsu fighter, to teaching martial arts in Vancouver to becoming a member of the Council of Yukon First Nations team. McGinty's powerful story is still being written, inspired by the youth he's guided, and the knowledge and respect he's learned and earned over the years. Today he continues his work to advance the Gladue Pilot Project, an important initiative dedicated to restorative sentencing and the rehabilitation of Indigenous offenders in Yukon.

Grand Chief Peter Johnston welcomes Kate White, leader of the Yukon NDP, for her take on the COVID reality, life at the Legislative Assembly, NDP priorities, the possibility of a territorial election in 2021, and fixed election dates in 2025. With so many issues and challenges on the minds of Yukoners, and all Canadians for that matter, Kate isn't interested in politicizing the pandemic, she just wants a little more transparency and accountability from the Liberals this Christmas.
