PWR UP: Virtually There
With a vaccine on the horizon, Council of Yukon First Nations Grand Chief Peter Johnston welcomes guests from across the territory and across North America to talk about today's COVID reality and the recovery period ahead. Interviews with Winnipeg record shop owner Ray Giguere and former NHLer Aaron Asham (originally from Manitoba, now living in New York) remind us that Yukon is not out of the woods, and gives us a sense of how the pandemic has been impacting families and businesses south of 60. North of the border, Grand Chief talks to Melanie Bennett from the Yukon First Nations Education Directorate on the progress being made to support Indigenous ways of knowing in Yukon schools, and the past present and future prospects on the mining scene are front and centre with Mike Burke of the Yukon Chamber of Mines. Jay Massie, ATCO's Director of Indigenous Relations joins the show to talk energy sector partnerships and holiday bills, and Grand Chief interviews Adam Lightfoot, one of three RCMP officers on the frontlines of an historic new policing agreement between Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the RCMP.
Part I: Vinyl Reality: The Record Biz Goes Online

Understandably, volume is down for countless businesses across Manitoba, but after 38 years in the biz, Ray's hard work, his commitment to the community and his appreciation for his customers comes through loud and clear.
