Council of Yukon First Nations Grand Chief Peter Johnston is joined by Tlingit Artist and Herbalist Blake Shaá'koon Lepine to talk about health, art, culture and life. Also stopping by the studio is Bobbi Rose Koe, a Gwitch’in entrepreneur and inspirational protector of the Peel Watershed. Grand Chief is joined by a local Secret Santa (CBC Yukon radio host Dave White) and Blake Shaá'koon Lepine who is a citizen of Carcross Tagish First Nation and a respected Tlingit Artist and Herbalist. This is a cool chat about the art scene, music, northern media and some dietary choices that you can make to lead a healthier, more energetic life.
Part III: Protector of the Peel
Grand Chief welcomes Tlingit Artist and Herbalist Blake Shaá'koon Lepine who talks about being a dad, being an artist, celebrating language and modern and traditional foods and the benefits of healthy eating. Grand Chief then welcomes entrepreneur Bobbi Rose Koe to the show. Known by some as a river guide from Fort McPherson, Northwest Territories, but known by many more for her role as a Protector of the Peel and the founder of the Youth of the Peel. This interview is all about people, culture, experiences, tradition, youth and the inspiration behind Bobbi’s powerful connection to the land.
Part IV: Generations
Grand Chief Peter Johnston welcomes CYFN Youth Executive and Selkirk First Nation citizen Morris Morrison for a conversation about future ambitions, Youth Council and the role that youth are playing to support important community-led public health and public safety initiatives right now, such as the new Community Safety Officer program that is already making a positive contribution to the community.
